چکیده

We study the reflection of magnons from a D5-brane in the framework of the AdS/CFT correspondence. We consider two possible orientations of the D5-brane with respect to the reference vacuum state, namely vacuum states aligned along “vertical” and “horizontal” directions. We show that the reflections are of the achiral type. We also show that the reflection matrices satisfy the boundary Yang-Baxter equations for both orientations. In the horizontal case the reflection matrix can be interpreted in terms of a bulk S-matrix, S(p,−p), and factorizability of boundary scattering therefore follows from that of bulk scattering. Finally, we solve the nested coordinate Bethe ansatz for the system in the vertical case to find the Bethe equations. In the horizontal case, the Bethe equations are of the same form as those for the closed string. [email protected], [email protected] [email protected]

Higher Loop Bethe Ansatz for Open Spin-Chains in AdS/CFT

We propose a perturbative asymptotic Bethe ansatz (PABA) for open spin-chain systems whose Hamiltonians are given by matrices of anomalous dimension for composite operators, and apply it to two types of composite operators related to two different brane configurations. One is an AdS4 × S2-brane in the bulk AdS5 × S5 which gives rise to a defect conformal field theory (dCFT) in the dual field th...

A Review of Integrable Deformations in Ads/cft

Marginal β deformations of N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory are known to correspond to a certain class of deformations of the S background subspace of type IIB string theory in AdS5 × S. An analogous set of deformations of the AdS5 subspace is reviewed here. String energy spectra computed in the near-pp-wave limit of these backgrounds match predictions encoded by discrete, asymptotic Bethe equatio...

From nesting to dressing

In integrable field theories the S-matrix is usually a product of a relatively simple matrix and a complicated scalar factor. We make an observation that in many relativistic integrable field theories the scalar factor can be expressed as a convolution of simple kernels appearing in the nested levels of the nested Bethe ansatz. We formulate a proposal, up to some discrete ambiguities, how to re...

Asymptotic Bethe equations for open boundaries in planar AdS/CFT

We solve, by means of a nested coordinate Bethe ansatz, the open-boundaries scattering theory describing the excitations of a free open string propagating in AdS5 × S, carrying large angular momentum J = J56, and ending on a maximal giant graviton whose angular momentum is in the same plane. We thus obtain the all-loop Bethe equations describing the spectrum, for J finite but large, of the ener...

Bethe Ansatz from String Sigma Model on S

We derive the asymptotic Bethe ansatz (AFS equations [1]) for the string on S ×R sector of AdS5 ×S5 from the integrable nonhomogeneous dynamical spin chain for the string sigma model proposed in [2]. It is clear from the derivation that AFS equations can be viewed only as an effective model describing a certain regime of a more fundamental inhomogeneous spin chain.
